Thank you for the info...
I'm also having heat (and noice) problems with my Dual Core processor so this article was lot helpful for me..

My Processor tempreture was about 64-66 deg. so I replaced my processor fan thinking that it does not work perfectly. with new fan, prossessor tempreture is about 56 - 70 deg. but when i play NFS Pro Street, tempreture goes even up to 77 deg. (Intel Hardware monitor popups a tempratue exceeding message) (I didn't check the tempreture when gaming, before installing the new fan)

Will this be a problem?

Thanks...

i have an LGA775 3Ghz on an intel Q965GF and Q945GC motherboards. these motherboards sucks because i can't decrease the fan's full speed activation temperature (at 70 degrees centigrade). i'm thinking of just cutting the 4th wire and just go full speed all the time.

is this intel's way of sabotaging their cpu's lifespan?

Very informative post. By the way, I live in Canada and plan to travel to Sri Lanka to study in Colombo and bring my Dell Inspiron 640m laptop (Core Duo 1.86MHz) with me. Any advice on the use (and purchase) of computing equipment in Sri Lanka will be most appreciated. Thanks in advance.

My system has original Intel 945 motherboard and 2.66 D processor. After the problem of heat, an extra fan was installed however the problem persisted. I am wary of using heat sink. Is Intel original heat sink only can solve problem? Where to find those in Mumbai?

Should have been well over 60c. When both cores at 90% , CPU fan goes to max speed. Then I know, “shit has hit the fan”. It sounds scary. Went through some “geek” sites and found some info. Now it is just under 55c and I’m a happy man now.
In my case, I’m living on the edge, with bear minimum 512 MB and crappy on-board X200 VGA. Had to clean-up few memory hogging processes. Good news is, outside it is sub-zero here, so cooling is not a issue in the worst case.(he,he)

Thank you. That' speedfan.
What temps are you getting with the d805 (min/max?)

Hi,
Nice post.
I had the same problem with D805. I kmow, it is a low-end dual core and the MB I use is not that good either. However, it's my baby and I have to live with it.

When I enable UDMA100 in registry, temp came down. I've increased the page file, but not sure it's helping or not.

Any suggestions? By the way nice temp monitor App you got there. Is it “Fan Speed”?

Chanux - what is the problem you saw? I've opened the site in firefox 2 and it looks ok?

Janus: No, don't avoid them, they are way better than single core versions. All modern intel processors run a tad hot, and this article was about general heat problems that affect Intel CPUs.

All I'm saying is if you use a modern processor (intel or AMD), make sure you monitor the temperature and ensure that all components in the system are sufficiently cooled.
